Computer Data Centre Cooling Maintenance by MNK Technical Services
The crew at MNK Technical Services recently carried out a scheduled preventative maintenance to the HVAC systems at a Melbourne site for a large client. We found this site to be unique in that it contained different types of air conditioning systems throughout, requiring different maintenance strategies for each technology. We started at the main office area that consists of high wall split system air conditioning unit to individual offices, each requiring filter and condensate pump clean-outs, we then moved on to the open plan office area that was heated and cooled by a ducted package unit, again requiring filter and coil cleans to ensure satisfactory indoor air quality when operating.
The large staff cafeteria and amenities area was looked after by several ceiling mounted cassette units. We then moved out into the warehouse complex, this area was ventilated and cooled by 6 roof mounted high volume evaporative air units, several of these units had add-on heating using a gas fired heat exchanger to enable warm air to be blown into the warehouse during cooler weather. The complex also had a large data centre containing computer servers for a national network, the cooling for the data centre is achieved using chilled water to individual cooling coils mounted in rows in the computer racks, we carried out preventative maintenance as per the manufacturers specification to the chiller systems.
MNK can assist your business with any HVAC preventative maintenance requirements you may have, give us a call to discuss your individual needs.
